Intricate Steel Helm of Awe Pendant
Wear the legend with an Intricate Steel Helm of Awe Pendant!
Little is known about the Helm of Awe as a symbol, except that it was used in magical practices and may have been used as an amulet or talisman to grant strength. It probably doesn’t refer to an actual helm, but instead armor, in a loose sense; a “thing that covers.” In the Poetic Edda, the dragon Fafnir mentions it:
“The fear-helm I wore to afright mankind,
While guarding my gold I lay;
Mightier seemed I than any man,
For a fiercer never I found.”
The “fear-helm” in this translation is the Helm of Awe; the “awe” is meant in the sense of terror, being unable to move.
