Jormungandr means "huge monster" in Old Norse. This legendary Viking Dragon was the middle child of Loki and the giantess Angrboða.
He grew so large that he surrounded the Earth and grasps its own tail in its jaws... and according to Norse legend, Ragnarok, the End of Days, would begin when Jormungandr finally released his tail.
Jormungandr was associated with the Ouroboros which is used as a symbol for the eternal cycle of life.
