This Triquetra Futhark Rune Necklace features a steel chain and steel medallion.
The triquetra is a triangular figure composed of three interlaced arcs, or three overlapping vesicae piscis lens shapes. It is used as an ornamental design in architecture, and in medieval manuscript illumination. Its depiction as interlaced is common in Insular ornaments from about the 7th century. In Norse culture, the Triquetra symbolized the eternal spiritual life which was also believed to have no beginning or end.
Runes were first used by the ancient Germanic and Nordic people as a beautiful form of writing. Each rune had a specific meaning and was often used in conjunction with other runes to create the desired impact. Over time, the use of runes spread throughout Europe and eventually became part of many pagan and magical traditions.
